Our boys hardly interact at all, with Lou left mostly to his own devices. Much relies heavily on the special effects; like Reynolds' bullet bra.

Really poor use of Abbott who has little to do with no one to play off of.

Bud Abbott as a Patriot ghost is a truly terrifying prospect.

True to form for A&C: not exactly great art, but it *is* funny

I'm not a fan of this type of silly, slapstick comedy, even if it earn me a few chuckles.

Coincidentally I had just watched The Cockeyed Miracle (1946) where also a pair of ghosts returns to fix things, and the style of comedy was very similar. Of course focusing on Lou Costello the ghost gags were more funny here and that's the key reason this one is better. This was also one where they separated him and Bud Abbott, with Bud getting a smaller part, while Lou was teamed with a pretty lady instead, Marjorie Reynolds, which was a sweet change to the format.

Slapstick comedy from the 40s isn't really my thing, but this was fun and cute. I wish the female lead were more commanding.
