Another damn good Toxie movie, just a little overlong. This one is weirder than the first one by a mile (well, maybe not that much), but still it's damn weird. It's got evil corporations, suicidal motorcylists, sumo wrestling, Tromatons, and bunches more! Go watch!

Actually kind of funny until that unbearable chase scene at the end.

This sequel proves that even with intentional schlock, there is such a thing as trying too hard, and too much self-consciousness, to the effect that the awfulness becomes entirely predictable and the element of amusing surprise is all but lost.

Trashier, campier, and more tasteless than its predecessor. Blind people jokes? Fucking awesome.

Enen though a lot of the gore was missing in this one, there was still some pretty funny moments. Wasn't expecting a masterpiece, which helps.

Almost as much fun as the first movie, definitely a bit goofier and unpredictable.

While it doesn't really match up when it comes to continuity, The Toxic Avenger Part II is a more enjoyable film than its predecessor. By focusing more on intentional comedy -- rather than the unintentional comedy brought about by a lack of budget -- the filmmakers provide many genuine laughs. The plot is busier and the action is more frequent, allowing us to always have something to watch. It's still junk, but it's funnier, more action-packed junk. I'm okay with that.

"Quality" Troma wackiness. Fared better upon a second viewing, I felt.

If this were just the first 20 minutes and the last 10 minutes it'd be a masterpiece.

The return of the hideously deformed creature of super human size and strength is very different from the first movie. Compared to this sequel the original was a serious film. The fight scenes are like The Benny Hill Show and the horrors of the holocaust at the same time. After the first few scenes it seemed like this movie will be too much for me. It gets much better once Toxie goes to Japan. The existential torments of Toxie once he loses a sense of purpose is a great touch to the plot.

(unrated director's cut): A production upgrade on all fronts, it almost looks too good for a Troma film. The action is superior, both in terms of shots and staging, but the satirical bite of the original is gone, replaced by cartoon tomfoolery, and the long-lost-Dad-in-Tokyo plot is lame, although it's nice to get out of Tromaville for a while. The additional gore in the director's cut ensures that the 'edge' lost on its first release has been somewhat restored, and the final chase is fun.

The moment they go to Japan turn it off, the peculiarities of Tromaville are infinitely more "fun" than watching Japanese people be polite to Lloyd Kaufman. The new Toxie design looks cheap and shitty even for Troma lol. Way too much voice-over narration, you don't need to explain coming out of the water at a Japanese beach as being Godzilla style - I promise we are stupid enough to piece this shit together!

I didn't mind the fact that compared to the original this is even more blatantly ridiculous and I've got to admit that the practical effects are really well done for the most part and that a handful of the jokes are actually kinda alright. But other than that, "The Toxic Avenger Part II" is a nightmare to sit through. Every moment is overstuffed with obnoxious sound effects and dubs, overbearing overacting and unsophisticated, try-hard jokes, and the results are unbearably and painfully hideous.
