The Trial

Grisham-lite courtroom drama feels like a TV pilot, albeit for an anachronistic version of TV drama that no longer exists; a bland, disposable entertainment that relies on the always compelling Forster and Gunton to provide some extra sparks. Modine does his best, but can't overcome the curious feeling of low-stakes as the trial plays out; the abrupt overheated absurdity of the final twist is a bit of a head scratcher.

Decent film, difficult to believe several parts of the film. Pretty decent acting, traditional characters/character arc, rather dull, but nothing bad.
