The Tunnel

A Hollywood-style (the lead actor even looks like Bruce Willis) film about a crew of people helping their loved ones escape East Germany. It's cobbled together from various true stories, and undoubtedly some details were added for dramatic effect, but even if the end result isn't 100% accurate, it's still an entertaining movie. The story trucks along beautifully and keeps you glued to your seat. It may not break the mold as far as escape flicks go, but it's loaded with suspense and action.

Quite an interesting story of a group of people organizing themselves to sneak out of East Berlin using the tunnel. Filled with suspense.

This tense drama is packed with story lines and looming disaster--a rare gem with top notch production values.

Another great juwel from German cinema. A must see. Don't forget to watch 'The Lives of Others' as well.

I think the strongest asset to this film is how sincerely is shows humanness. It's an ongoing story that will be told a million times and sadly, ignored just as many. It's a film that portrays cynicism and optimism simultaneously very well.
