Not particularly informative, but enjoyable for the soundtrack and visuals. The interviews aren't bad either, with Gore Vidal a standout, but it's a pity that they couldn't create a more cohesive narrative out of what was being said.

Further proof that the hippy movement was self-serving and hardly affective, and this documentary lazily takes their side. A differing opinion most likely would've made this more interesting, but it's always taking sides with Lennon and portrays him as pretty much flawless, not mentioning any of his darker characteristics (it also doesn't help that Lennon's solo music sucks ass). It at least does what it says on the tin and reveals Lennon's struggle for personal freedom (keyword personal).

This is a good movie. Although it doesn't cover a lot of ground that I haven't heard or seen before. I would recommend this movie to all John Lennon/Beatle fans.
