In the Viking era, somewhere in the North Atlantic area, the Viking Women are awaiting the return of their Viking Men from a hunting expedition and, growing tired of the long wait, the Viking women, led by Desir, (and, possibly desire as Viking Nights are long and cold), set sail in search of their Viking Men. In the course of the journey, their ship is destroyed and a handful (of the best-looking ones) are washed upon an island. (imdb)

Roger Corman went to Stanford University and received a degree in Industrial Engineering. Right out of college he landed a well paying job at U.S. Electrical Motors. He began work on a Monday and quit on Thursday, telling his boss "I've made a terrible mistake". A decade later he made this film. God bless you, Roger Corman. Respect.

Not a good movie, but one with a few interesting aspects. It really does feel like the story's attempting to be more feminist than the usual sword-and-sandal fare; the female characters drive the plot, and tend to save the men more than vice-versa. Meanwhile, the day is saved and the good guys get away thanks to the conniving bitch and the most ineffectual and effeminate of the men.

Pleasant enough nonsense, with a bevy of babes to gawk at throughout. Possibly even more fun though are Todd (who looks like a cross between Owen Wilson and Roger Daltrey, and seems to be of no use whatsoever to anyone) and the Prince, a flamingly gay Arnold Horshack. Great MST line: "Sorry about the coat, but Corman's poodle died and he doesn't like to waste anything."

I really enjoyed this one. Not a seriously good movie, of course, but memorable campy fun. (Don't expect much historical accuracy by the way.)

Roger Corman makes another film like "Gunslinger" where women take the lead as strong characters. Unfortunately this one doesn't hold up as well as the western. Maybe it lost me when I saw the women throwing the spear in the beginning, but I found this film lacking the same charm.

Kind of boring. It isn't bad enough to constantly entertain like other Corman films do, and the sea serpent doesn't get much screen time.

Not insultingly stupid... just boring, cheap, and hammy. Lots of great eye candy. I'd gladly betray my entire people and run away with creepy 1957 Susan Cabot if she asked.

Worthless. MST3k's hilarious treatment of this really rips on Corman's directing and rightly so. It is an utter embarrassment.
