The Well-Digger's Daughter

The pairing of Raimu & Fernandel is something that excites, but unfortunately a lot of La fille du puisatier [The Well-Digger's Daughter] (1940) was a terrible bore. You know the typical French style of blabbering and blabbering on and on, most of the time about nothing at all. The Well-Digger's Daughter does get considerably better the second half when the baby seeds are laid and families start arguing. That's when the human emotions comes bursting out and what they say actually hits it's aim.
