A young woman swears revenge on the man who left her father destitute in the Alaska gold fields. She tracks him to the opera houses of New York, where he is a director. Pretty damn good. Ethel brings all the ups and downs of emotions you'd expect from a Barrymore and is pure class! This is the only silent film I've seen of her and I wish there was many more. She was a great screen presence. The film isn't super ambitious, but Ethel makes it her own. Plus this might be the youngest I've seen the great character actor William B. Davidson, which was funny, as this is the 240th film I see him in!
