A bit silly, but it's pretty funny and Robinson is great in his dual role.

Edward G. Robinson turns in an excellent performance (well, two of them, actually) in a dual role, and for once I've gotten to see a comedy that's reasonably funny. Unfortunately, this is another one of those movies whose entire plot depends on every character in the film behaving like an idiot

Enjoyed Robinson's dual role--he does a nice job contrasting his performance from one to the other. Ford makes excellent use of the photography, believably placing the two in the same space. He also includes a couple of solid atmospheric shots for the murder scenes, making especially good use of shadow.

Edward G. Robinson laughing at his own gangster image! A nicely done dual role film where Robinson plays his usual mobster role and as Mr. Jones, a nervous office dude. And you can bet they cross paths. John Ford shows his sharp eye for wild comedies letting the characters come alive with their own little peculiarities. Jean Arthur was real fine here, with a snappy could-care-less attitude. One almost wish they'd done more with her because she was 'on' for this one. This touches brilliance!

Jean Arthur is adorable as the spunky dame who spends the whole movie talking about how she wants to be spunked by a neanderthal. Edward G. Robinson is great as the neanderthal and the nebbish who learns to spunk like a neanderthal. There is an incredible moment towards the end when his two identities really COME together, and the sheer power of his SHOOTING causes his system to overLOAD. I really liked the scene with Jean Arthur leading the cops on, it was very cute and funny.
