The 3D trailer I saw was cool beans, but the movie itself was lima beans (the very worst of the beans). A rare movie I dislike simply because it isn't good.

The Wild Life has been saved from being the worst animated movie of the year only by the simple fact that Norm of the North was released into theaters. But that it's even a discussion should be damning enough. It has atrocious animation, an ugly art style, indifferent voice acting, a boring story, incredibly low stakes, and zero laughs. The world's least-discerning newborn would look at The Wild Life and give it a downward-facing thumb and a stuck-out tongue.

Slight but agreeable animated film is a lot of fun, thanks to some excellent animation and a lively cast of unknowns in the voice cast. Nothing particularly distinctive or memorable here, but a freewheeling and enjoyable antidote to the more rigid Hollywood style of animation; large scale chase scene denouement is especially fun, with even a few cheeky references to the Road Runner/Coyote cartoons!

It was... worse than something released into movie theaters should be, but not unusually awful, in my opinion. Nothing distinguishing.

So I should probably start off by saying that if the mention of Daniel Defoe's classic dredges up musty English-class memories of shipwrecks, slavers, cannibals and murderers, fear not. The creators of this silly convection may indeed be invoking Crusoe's famous name, but there's little else to link the two tales. Except for, well, a shipwreck and a couple scroungy cat villains. If you hate talking animals and sidekick characters, especially if they are one and the same - except that there's like 20 of them - you will not have a good time with this movie.

Robinson Crusoe (2016) is a harmless nice looking animation film. Unfortunately the script is badly lacking. Barely any creativity put into the life on the island and the most danger they experience are cats. I remember seeing a commercial of this on one of the cartoon channels where they hyped that this was the Robinson Crusoe from the animals perspective. The problem with that is that EVERY animation film released these days are from the animals perspective!
