Fucking Theodore Roosevelt was fistpump worthy as a president and man, a great portrayal by Keith and Sean Connery can play an Arab or Russian and be awesome regardless.

This is an odd film that does not feel even slightly from it's era. It's a throwback to colonial adventure films, with the one decidedly modern feature of having the main protagonist be on the colonized side of the equation. Granted that Connery is never even slightly convincing as a Berber, but somehow the fact that Connery is never anyone other than Connery on film, Scottish accent and all, makes this seem a little more forgivable than usual.

MVP: Jerry Goldsmith. Again.

It's such a wild, bold and weird mix of so many things, and I love it. No need to talk about Sean Connery, obv.
