Probably Lewis' most ambitious movie, which is exactly as adorable as that sounds. Obviously, the man bites off more than he can chew, since his talents are virtually nonexistant but therein lies the fun. It's like The Holy Mountain for retarded people.

The same plot as The Last Temptation of Christ, but way less controversial.

Unforgivably bad film-making, but quite entertaining. The ending should stand as the dictionary definition of the term "psychotronic." If you're looking at this because you're interested in H.G. Lewis, start with "Two Thousand Maniacs!" instead.

If this avoided some of the extremely long and boring shots, it would be about 20 minutes shorter and a whole lot better.

This is an acid gorefest fever dream that works most of the time, and doesn't really have much of a conclusion. Drink everytime Montag is mentioned.

Another batch of H G Lewis hokum, the usual cross between gruesome and goofy. Considerable amusement is provided by Montag's histrionics, the recurrent closeup of his eyes, not to mention some lurid and silly acting by the other principals. Then there's the fact that the audience seems to be seated in another room entirely. Add to that the incomprehensible finale, and this whole "Is it a dream?" and "The End?...Or Is It?" business, and you've dished yourself up a real bucket of guano.

Not really a good movie. At all. But like a lot of Hershell Gordon Lewis films, it has a certain charm to it.

I feel like a group of high schoolers found some great special effects and then were encouraged to make a film around it. The crime drama story line was not persuasive. The acting, sound mix, pacing, and cinematography were awful. I was looking for a fun gory movie because I liked Peter Jackson's Brain Dead so much last year. This was not it. I learned a movie needs more than just great practical effects to be enjoyable.
