ağzından salyalar saçmadan, madoff'un ne yaptığından ziyade neden hikaye olabildiğini, nasıl bunun mümkün olduğunu ve bireysel bir şeytan olarak algılanmasındaki hatayla neyin ürünü olduğunun gözden kaçırıldığını vurgulayarak finansal dramalardan ayrılan bir noktaya gidiyor. böyle nüanslı filmlerin yanlış anlaşılması veya hiç anlaşılmaması mümkün, belgesel sanki de ponzi'yi buradan öğrenecekti millet. n: levinson değerini tam keşfedemeyenlerden sanki.

Sleek, soulless movie about a monster of a man and the effect his actions have on his loved ones. It's a pretty interesting topic, the closed-door interactions of a very public familial disintegration, but the script is just about the most pedestrian, surface-level thing going, a very basic re-telling of events with little in the way of subtlety or insight. Movies like Jackie exist now.

Moderately entertaining biopic with a decent turn from the leads. The supporting cast is good, particularly Azaria.

De Niro and Pfeiffer deliver sensational, introspective and detailed performances in this adequate retelling of the Madoff tragedy.

there are some inspired scenes but I'm not sure who this was made for or why. if you want to learn about the logistics of what Madoff did then go read this movie's apparent source material, which can be found by searching "Madoff investment scandal" on Wikipedia.com

Entertainment 5/4 -- great acting, directing, one of the most engaging movies I've seen, in part because of its historic value. Sprit: 1/3. Sustainability: 1/3.

Not sure which was worse: De Niro sleepwalking through his role, or Pfeiffer's ridiculous "New Yaawwk" accent attempt. "Madoff", the earlier, I think 2-part miniseries with Richard Dreyfuss in the lead was much better. If you don't know what a Ponzi scheme is, after watching this you still may not know. Shoddy.

Having read the source book (whose author plays herself here) it seems there was no satisfactory way to portray the progression/mechanics of the scheme, not least because everything intriguing therein would've been actionable if meaningfully dramatized (or in the case of the good widow Picower, not conducive to PR). But I like it as a tale of two (or three) (attempted) suicides: one memorably comic, the other going to show that if one thing can make an innocent end it, it's the internet.

For a Barry Levinson film, this is a downfall but it is an intreresting story for sure.
