Michel Deville's film, The Woman in Blue, presents one of the most despicable chauvinistic characters in cinema, yet at the same times give a provactive story that tells of the confusion, sadness and hopelessness of love. The performances from Lea Massari and Michel Piccoli are riveting and one of the main reasons for this films endearing quality.
