In a world where private schoolgirls in short pleat skirts fall over all the time, but only in ridiculously unnatural ways that keep their knickers hidden from prying eyes, the forest is king, and when it says it needs a girl to balance rocks, you'd better listen or you'll get a taproot up your arse. A fun early effort from Lucky McKee if you don't expect much in the way of horror.

Yes, Lucky McKee tried something new. He wants to see can the audience get bored from a horror flick? And the answer was yes. After that movie I believe in Lucky McKee. But you don't have to watch that movie for 90 minutes. You may stare at an empty wall for 10 minutes. Same feeling, less time. * Casting, Acting : 2 * Script : 1 * Directing, Aura : 2 * Ease of Viewing : 2 * Naked Eye : 1

Just okay, nothing more. A few extra points for having Bruce Campbell in it.

considering "may" is supposed to be such a wonderful movie, this one is it's better in every way. that's no problem with mckee, it's just the fact that he's got no supporters. had he had some serious investments for his movies he could have been one of the best.

Good cast and a novel concept, but I feel alot more could have been done from a horror/suspense aspect.

Atmospheric horror playing on adolescent anxieties and evincing a wide range of influences, from Raimi and Argento to Hitchcock and Lynch.

"Those expecting a shock-a-minute gore-fest will most likely walk away scratching their head, but as a semi-homage to Dario Argento's Suspiria, The Woods is a creepy little winner."

At the beginning of the movie, let people in perspective, like, this film promises, but it means confused and things are not very well explained, is not bad, but it's not good.
