An interesting tragic cycle of narrative. Girls project their fantasies, dark yearnings, and hidden desires to their stories, w/o us seeing the stories. Yet the meditative long narrations invite our imagination into these stories and make us accomplices, divulging our investment in depictions of violence. Takes a teen-angst setting and turns it into a meditative, haptic, and dark tale of teenage sexuality with feminist undertones. The superimpositions and slow fades were definitely cool.

TFW when you're at a spooky teen sleepover and you wait for someone to jump out and scare you, but instead they just stare at you and tell you a story for 35 straight minutes. Sort of excruciating but also almost perversely admirable for how tedious it dares to be.
