The Wrong Box

This is a good film, well written by Gelbart and directed with tongue in cheek by Forbes. All the performances are good, but Ralph Richardson, Peter Sellers and Wilfrid Lawson as Peacock the Butler deserve special mention. The only thing wrong with this film is that the first ten minutes or so--which chronicle the death of all but two participants in the tontine--are so funny that the rest is downhill from there.

The sequence showing what happened to everyone else in the taunteen is particularly great.

This is a very funny black comedy. The cast is outstanding, it contains everyone from Peter Cook to Peter Sellers. There are a lot of mix ups that produce numerous funny things. I highly recommend this comedy of errors.

It was like a more British (and thus, more foreign) Monty Python. Difficult to follow. WACKY for the sake of being wacky so it was very hit or miss. Fav scene: introduction montage of everyone else dying.

Fairly amusing, not really funny

The humor didn't work with me, making it a slow, tedious build-up to its excellent punch line.

Everything a dark comedy should be.

A lot of great British actors produce a few laughs, but never really have much to do.

They just don't make comedy like this anymore

It's a fun, daft farce with a ridiculous cast list.
