Then She Found Me

Watching the first half of "Then She Found Me", I was reminded of "Waitress" and was certain I was going to be treated to a second helping of a movie I so much liked. The tone was light-hearted and fun. But, as is so typical with Helen Hunt movies, somewhere toward the middle, the movie starts taking itself too seriously, and what was fun to watch becomes depressing to watch. Surprisingly, Bette Midler seems to be miscast as a Helen Hunt's long-lost (boisterous) birth mother.

Nothing special, with show-stealer Bette Midler being the only one raising the bar.

Watchable, particularly because of Bette Midler, but nothing to write home about.

Starts light and romcom then goes all dreary drama; GET MARRIED, HAVE CHILDREN, BELIEVE IN GOD, GET MARRIED, HAVE CHILDREN, BELIEVE IN GOD, GET MARRIED, HAVE CHILDREN BELIEVE IN GOD -wtf! is that Salman Rushdie?- GET MARRIED, HAVE CHILDREN, BELIEVE IN GOD, GET MARRIED, HAVE CHILDREN, BELIEVE IN GOD, GET MARRIED, HAVE CHILDREN, BELIEVE IN GOD -end.

I never Helen Hunt could be so annoying. And she had total creative control over this, she directed in and cast herself into the leading role.

I normally love Helen Hunt - but Bette Midler carried this one.

The only good part of the movie was Bette Midler. There isnt much to say about this movie, its extremely predictable.

It just didn't have what it took to hold me in. If it were a little richer, a little more charming, a little more exciting, or a little more dramatic it might have started to work, but it didn't.

A little messy, definitely with flaws, no one can look worried and anxious like Hunt, and Midler was a nice twist. Half way through I was on board. *Okay

good cast, stupid, annoying script.
