Debut from Hitchcock's protege. It's a slow start and Jimmy Hanley is woefully miscast in a role that should've gone to a sturdier guy, but it builds to a great climax. Lots of fun with a few fun moments of dry comedy. Desperately needs a restoration - on the copy I had, the sister and love interest look exactly the same.

The directorial debut of Pen Tennyson, Alfred Hitchcock's assistant on some of his best British work. He would only have time to direct three films before he passed away in a plane accident in 1941. A sad loss, for the great-grandson the poet Lord Alfred Tennyson had an eye for detail. He took a rather ordinary and mildly budgeted boxing story and did some good things with it. From the minor dramatic effects to that massive and hilarious boxing brawl that concluded this knock-out.
