The music was a bit much at times but otherwise with was a decent movie with mild tension, although, I was thrown off by the strange decisions some of the people made.

A tightly directed, straightforward narrative. It's extremely competently shot and edited, and overall a marvelous film for someone with so little experience. Pacing is excellent and the sense of tension handled well.

Unexciting variation on THE WAGES OF FEAR in which the desperados have been replaced with responsible Soviet citizens behaving responsibly.

insufferable, especially if you are forced to see it projected from a vhs copy (a crime i never hope to witness again)

Tarkovsky's first feature is nothing to write home about, cribbing heavily from Wages of Fear without any of the narrative or political bite. Still, a competent effort, with some fine compositions.
