A sequel of sorts to Window, Water, Baby, Moving where Brakhage again documents the birth of one of his children. This time, however, he distorts the film with all manner of scratches, paint, and optical effects. The result is unsettling and anxious, but as the actual birth happens, calms into a more peaceful balance. Interesting, but not as good as its predecessor.

Not as good as Window, Water, Baby, Moving, in large part because it lacks the emotion and humanity of it's predecessor. Nevertheless, it's still a creative look at childbirth and some interesting stuff shines through the debris.

Can't compare to the beauty, emotion and poeticism of Window Water Baby Moving, but still an engaging short. More form than function, but its form is interesting.

Ah, the horror of natural child-birth.
