Things You Never See on the Screen

This was, I think, the first of the "Breakdowns of..." series that become a tradition for the next 9 or 10 years. There are lo-o-o-ong explanatory intertitles, a la silent movies that cause many of the gags to fall flat...fortunately, they figured out they needed to tighten up the timing in subsequent installments. Still, an amusing historical document.
