The lovely Toby Wing gets a lead role!!! She had to go to Canada to get one, and in a very low budget production too. Thoroughbred (1935) is as cheap as it gets, but in a way Toby makes it watchable behind the fast food counter with her personality and wisecracks. But of course it was limited how great a 1930s movie could be with without a major studio behind it. And you can't expect more out of a hack director like Sam Newfield.
