Three Guys Named Mike

Adorable. What looks like it could be a dull romantic quadrangle instead turns out to be a nice girl's picture about the romance of being a stewardess. Besides period appropriate things about the airlines that are a hoot (they forgot the food... so they turn back?!), the cast all has great chemistry and the on-the-job stuff is fun. If I ever have a daughter, we'll watch this together. And I'm quite glad Marcy ended up with Mike at the end. He seemed pretty swell.

I like Jane Wyman, but I don't think I'd want her as my flight attendant. But the three Mikes did. Van Johnson, Howard Keel and Barry Sullivan all influencing her life and wanting to get close to her. A very light and charming affair. For all the serious roles Wyman had during that time, it was almost refreshing seeing her let loose and just clown around again. A pleaser, but it doesn't go any deeper than that.
