Straightforward telling built around a very catchy tune. Voice work is poor or at least poorly recorded, typical of animation of this era. There's something faintly unpleasant, certainly un-cute, about the character designs and color palette. The animation technique to modern eyes is too-smooth and a little robotic, but some moments, especially the wolf blowing the houses away, are great. There is brief use of anti-Semitic imagery; always depressing yet fascinating where these tropes crop up.

It's a classic, just not a very good one. It's pretty bad, really.. The pigs' singing voices are absolutely horrible.

I get the whole "Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf" thing as a metaphor for the Great Depression, but like a lot of other Disney shorts, it's made out to be much better than it actually is - mostly by Disney themselves.

The story became better known thanks to this version made by Disney in animation.

As simplistic and problematic as it may be, "The Three Little Pigs" was hailed by many for its characterization of the eponymous characters and for the picture's being a source of optimism for the Depression-era American people in large part due to the classically catchy tune, "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?".
