MGM updating Three Live Ghosts for an 1936 audience, using largely the same actors who did the 1929 adaptation. Of those coming back for a second try was Beryl Mercer, Charles McNaughton & Claud Allister, with old Mercer being particularly adorable in her role. It still felt like they cut a few corners with the story to get the full effect of three missing soldiers returning, but there are a few good laughs hidden in there.
