Three Smart Girls

It's cute and enjoyable enough, but very saccharine and shallow, and occasionally shrill. When the characters are one on one it feels like a much better movie with the banter allowed to shine, but then it lapses back into the plot and people being annoying.

Cute and really enjoyable

I really enjoyed this. The girls did fine with Deanna Durbin being adorable. Barbara Read as the one falling for Lord Ray Milland was also very good in her screen debut. Plus Mischa Auer was fantastic as comic relief! And the rest of the selection worked well within the family movie feel, including the gold diggers. Well, Binnie Barnes could have been more slimy, but her mother Alice Brady more then made up for that! So a satisfying experience even if I had a hard time listening to Durbin sing.
