Thriller: A Cruel Picture

A landmark film, but not a great one. The sex and sleaze is done well, but the violence is not. This is obviously influenced by the Japanese Pink and Girl Boss movies, shame they didn't take any notes on how the Japanese filmed action sequences. Still the finale is better than any of the murders in I Spit On Your Grave. The XXX version with the inserted hardcore sex shots do not feature Christina Lindberg.

Sick stuff with a hot Lindberg and generally not without merit. Sorta boring tho, to be honest.

It's like a Japanese pinky violence film with hardcore sex and without any talent whatsoever.

Girl power to the max. This is one of the best 'you deserved it' films to date.

I've never been more jerked around by a movie in my life. The setup was fine. But this movie simply did not know how to give the audience a pay off. For the last twenty minutes we get nothing but fairly bloodless, cheesy looking shotgun chest shots and slow-mo fighting (which was an obligatory "payoff" to the earlier tedious fight training scenes) done SO SOWLY that I nearly pulled my hair out in frustration. I guess any semblance of gore is a no no, but pointless hardcore porn shots are okay.

Raw, uncomplicated, and explicit in both violence and sex (the uncut version, anyway), Thriller is a revenge film of unprecedented power, and understandably seminal - a clear influence on Zarchi, Ferrara, Tarantino and others. Plot holes abound, however, and Vibenius severely cripples it with his grating insistence on redundant, lengthy slo-mo sequences, in what is a slow-paced movie to boot.

I don't know which was more indulgent, the hardcore inserts or the interminable slow-mo action scenes. The film does have a certain stylish charm, but on the whole it's not very good.

I enjoyed watching this because it shows (even more) how derivative Tarantino can be. The film has a pretty standard sexploitation premise. The hardcore scenes are sudden and seem too "editted in." Overall it's interesting as an historic piece the most, and certainly has a badass appeal to it that one can't deny.

If the payoff sucks in a revenge flick the movie fails. That's not to say this isn't memorable and fun, just disappointing. I wanted more carnage.

Lots of tits, other than that utter shit. Slow-mo action sequences makes it even worse. Lindberg is incredibly cute though.

Some parts seem to be graphic for the sake of being graphic, which contrasts strangely with the climax where the violence is very obviously fake. Other than that, and the the climax going on forever because slow motion seemed cool, it's a pretty decent revenge film.

An excellent film, a slow burner with solid direction and acting. This is one of the best of its genre.

Lindberg was lovely, cute, sexy and her portrayal of Madeleine -- the shotgun/trench coat badass -- is iconic and amazing. I actually enjoy the slow build and the POV shots because it makes it personal. What keeps this from being a 90 or more, and top of its class, is simply the extended slo-mo scenes, that don't have the intended effect of making me feel the violence/bloodshed. One or two would have been great, but it meant the payoff wasn't what it COULD be. Still great though.

A definitive exploitation film but be forewarned that the unrated version isn't as good as the theatrical release. It just adds some pointless hardcore inserts that are jarring to the pacing and repellent in I think an unintended way.

Eyebrow raising sexploitation. By today's standards this is a hardcore film, hitting on some heavy topics. In his 'most commercial movie ever made' Vibenus touches on drug addiction, sex slavery, female abuse, hardcore sex and allegedly, corpse destruction. I was wondering how they made that shot look so real. The soundtrack is provocative at times and the action scenes are drawn out, hopefully not to extend the running length. Great shotgun/trench combo shot that reeks of Omar from 'The Wire'.

A pretty bad good film for what it does. It was quite entertaining, but my eyes didn't like this candy store as much as the one in the mall.

Very cute mute and just seducing you to watch. I loved her multi-colored assortment of eyepatches most.

Went to go get a drink and they were still slow-mo fighting. DO NOT watch the director's cut version, it is gross and ghoulish. A little tip though: if someone pulls up to you and they're wearing driving gloves and pretty much go "What's a chicken like you doing in a coop like this?" Just walk away.

When the end credits appeared, I was stunned and sad.

The super-slow action sequences in the end were absolutely great. Unfortunately the rest of the movie was also super-slow. Lindberg's character is cool but not enough to keep me interested for the entire length of the movie.

Sexploitation at it's best.

Never has sex and violence looked as fascinatingly ugly as shown here.
