Compelling and sensitive despite being ever so hokey.

Pretty good crime noiry melodrama where a nun tries to prove a woman didn't commit a murder against the clock. Unremarkable but fun enough while it lasts.

The mystery might have been little on the simple side, but Douglas Sirk's Thunder on the Hill (1951) is full of style and atmosphere. Loving that Claudette Colbert ends up a nun detective after meeting convicted Ann Blyth awaiting her hanging, convinced she's innocent. Makes it a very compelling watch.
