The International Rescue team is faced with one of its toughest challenges yet, as the revolutionary lighter-than-air craft Skyship One is hijacked while on her maiden voyage around the world. Against backdrops including the Statue of Liberty and the Sphinx, Lady Penelope, Parker, Alan and Tin-Tin fight the hijackers from on-board, while the rest of the team tries to stop the airship crashing into a missile silo. This one gets lots of points for originality! I think it's a sequel to "Thunderbirds Are Go," which I haven't seen. The first part of the movie moves a bit slowly, but I loved the concept and all the miniatures are wonderful. Interesting and unique.

Gerry Anderson is better taken in episodic doses than at feature length. THUNDERBIRD SIX has more plot than the previous THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO, but is somehow less entertaining. OK for fans, but anyone new to the worlds of Gerry Anderson would be better off starting with an episode or two of STINGRAY.

Nowhere near as much fun as Thunderbirds are go, but still a more entertaining way to spend an afternoon than ANYTHING done by Speilberg et al. Derek Meddings as usual shows why Stanley Kubrik tried to Headhunt him, and would later do the special effects for bigger budget films such as Goldeneye and Superman II
