Tillie and Gus

This has been out of circulation for years, so the ranking is based on fond memory -- always unreliable! But the concept and casting (Fields and Skipworth as con artists not above trying to cheat each other) is genius.

Perhaps not an incredible comedy, but it's got some incredibly funny sequences tucked in there in that very W.C. Fields manner.The sad part is that it's less then an hour. I would have loved it if they'd made more out of the hatred between Fields and Alison Skipworth, for the little they did together was ace! And of course the steamboat race was hilarious! Might not have topped the one in Will Rogers' Steamboat Round the Bend (1935), but it was still good for many laughs!
