Tinker Bell

It's pretty, but Tinker Bell is annoying, her friends are annoying, the entire population and concept of Pixie Hollow is annoying...and, yeah. The movie's annoying, too.

The stuff that I watch... From my kid's reaction to Tinker Bell in Peter Pan and her later insistence on seeing this I can see why this turned into a separate franchise bigger than Peter Pan for Disney. Although it suffers from the general problems of all derivative works (you need to strain the story) the visual innovations in the fairy land makes up for it. The Celtic music is a nice bonus (Although I listened to French version; I can imagine McKennitt's voice behind :))

The worst excess of squeezing every possible drop of money out of a story whether it has the credibility to hold it or not - and this certainly doesn't. Owes very little to anything written by Barrie and makes the smurfs look like Dickens in comparison.

Trash.

With decent animation that's admittedly clunky in parts & voice performances that mostly make up for that, it's little more than you'd expect it to be- a plain, simple origin story for Tinker Bell that mostly serves as a way to modernize & reintroduce her character to the Disney universe. It's nothing spectacular, but it's not bad either. In a word, it's watchable, and that's all it's trying to be.
