Your jumping off point has to be that you singularly hate the cat and want to see him suffer. None of the characters are developed enough to root for or to root against, which seems to be the film's main objective because almost every character is punished simply for being around our cartoon duo. There's a scene where the cat sits at a piano and sings a ballad which is entirely in autotune. I don't have the words. My son enjoyed it which dropped my score even lower.

I was hoping for a better movie. It felt good to see Tom and Jerry again but story is very slow and doesn't offer you any interesting subject. The action and cartoon are fine but the emotion transition between the characters is almost nonexistent.

I was trying my best to enjoy this cartoony live-action adaptation of Tom and Jerry (2021), but they were making the surroundings and cameos too contemporary to make the inclusion of Tom & Jerry feel genuine. Chloë Grace Moretz is cute in her role, but the stars of the show take a backseat to her screen time. I was here for the cat, and to a lesser degree that annoying mouse, but they gave most of the good parts in the script to the caricatured humans and that's not why I tuned in.

The nostalgia kicked in and it was nice seeing Tom and Jerry, some of the jokes actually landed and Mortez was really trying here to bring this material to life. Good animation as well. On the opposite end, the obsession with rap and going back to the same well with the rap was annoying and a lot of jokes didn't work. The plot was basic. I wanted to give this a pass but I can't bring myself to do it; I also can't bring myself to say I outright hated it.

I wanted to give this new Tom & Jerry movie a chance. The good things going for this film is the quality of the Animation. I was very impressed with Tom, Jerry, and the other animals. Thank God they didn't make Tom and Jerry speak. Some of the Cat and Mouse chase hijinks is fairly entertaining, Now for the bad. When it doesn’t focus on Tom and Jerry, the Human characters are kind of bad and have rubbish jokes for the most part. It doesn’t help the acting is wonky. I wish it wasn't poor.
