This is a mostly by the numbers film but overall it works. Alicia Vikander is good in the lead role. There are some good actions scenes. There are not a lot of interesting characters in the script. Overall I would recommend this film.

Alicia Vikander does a good job of embodying the Lara Croft from the rebooted game series. The movie does a good job of depicting the world of the game. The plot feels like a streamlined plot fro one of these games. The problem is that video game plots tend to rely on the interactivity of a game to bolster deliberately sketchy and weak plots. This movie is ... fine. Unexciting, but fine. I would like to see what they could do with this character and a better plot.

Alicia Vikander was great in the leading role. The story was filled with a lot of poor writing and supernatural nonsense. Many overly dark scenes. It had a few exciting sequences. Dominic West was charismatic but his role was poor. Walton Goggins stunk it up as usual. Some great props and spectacular sets. Pathetic close quarter gun battles. The ending was only slightly better than expected.

Enjoyable adventure yarn with some explicit tips of the hat to INDIANA JONES, with Vikander a likable and believable heroine; some rote plotting and somewhat tiresome (though nowadays ineveitable) attempts at franchise building detract, but can't bring down the fun; scores points for giving Croft some added weight and authenticity by showing the impact (physically and psychologically) that the carnage is having.

A quite predictable and by the numbers reboot. Vikander tries to get the most out of her role although she stops short of getting a boobjob of Croftian proportions. The dialogue, however, is atrocious and while some of the action sequences are decently entertaining and gritty on the whole this is a thumbs down from me.

Vikander takes on the role of Lara from the recent reboot rather than the one with the big boobs. Sadly cleavage is not the only thing lacking here as a reasonable opening devolves into far fetched and clichéd plot points which combine to lose the viewer's interest. It's not bad, but it's just far less than it could/should have been
