A very polished yet gritty Spanish crime saga which follows the usual pattern of robbery, revenge, descent into the depths of animalistic violence and ultimately redemption. It's the kind of blood-fresco we've seen before from the Tarantinos, Park Chan-Wooks et al. Fair acting and plenty of stylised violence, but rather formulaic underneath. To be fair the characters are memorable enough and the credits look and sound good. Sort of a Spanish relation to Alexei Balabanov's "Brother".
