This movie has SEVENTEEN sex scenes in it. (Many overlap so it was difficult to count.) Somehow, the killer ends up being the least creepy male character in the movie.

Nicely shot, stylish and endearingly sleazy giallo, the camera effectively capturing the genre staples of blood, naked flesh and well-chosen Italian locations. It manages to summon up some tense moments, and even if the characters feel a bit thinly drawn the acting is fine. I didn't immediately buy the killer's motivation, but it grew on me when considering it later. There was a unitentionally slapstick fight towards the end which gave me a laugh. I seem to like Martino's films. Decent.

An Italian college girl gets wigged out when two of her friends are strangled and mutilated, so she and a group of female students go to stay at a remote villa to get away. However, the killer follows the girls and continues the slaughter. Solid giallo flick with style, blood and gorgeous ladies to spare. There's some great tense scenes once it gets down to just the killer and the final girl in the house. Recommended.

My score is completely arbitrary & wildly unfair. When I was 4, I caught my babysitter watching this in our living room - at the height of one of the more brutal scenes. I screamed, ran underneath my bed, and refused to come out even when her boyfriend offered me a bag of M&M's. I never knew the name of the film until about 2 mins ago when I was ranking movies & instantly recognized the thumbnail as the same woman who occasionally haunts my nightmares. TOTALLY A NORMAL ADULT NOW THOUGH. TOTES.

A giallo that perfectly captures the genres inherent paradoxes- It's groady, yet stylish, repulsive yet beatiful, coarse yet elegant, accessible yet convoluted and totally, utterly nonsensical. A sheer, tasteless delight and a feast for the eyes of those of us who pride ourselves on a very particular sense of bad taste.

Everyone in Italy buying leather gloves is probably in some database. What a beautiful sleazy country.

Some of the best Giallo in all of its salaciousness. From frame number one there are a pair (wink) of characteristics that are classic to the genre, but the film that follows leans so heavily on the sexual aspect to make it a warning to the male sex. Grusome kills and bright photography highlight a great little thriller. The reveal may be a bit underwhelming but the climax is wonderfully suspenseful.

That scene where the boy falls off the hill is hilarious!

Let's be honest here this had some truly terrible acting. The middle of the movie dragged a bit but there are moments of good suspense during the third act and the finale had a surprisingly good fight for a giallo.

One of the best giallos ever made. Brutal, savage and very suspenseful.

Italo-horror continues to surprise me with how well it's photographed while simultaneously having the most awful low-effort dubbing in cinematic history.

This has some good moments, but it does not quite live up to its reputation especially compared to some of the other Italian genre films I have seen.

Typical Italian stalker. This film is well photographed and features some very beautiful starlets.

Overrrated giallo by Sergio Martino. A couple of terrific setpieces - including a bit of stalk and slash action in a misty swamp - but it's rather slow and suffers from boring characters. Martino has done better.

I don't always gel with giallo movies so every time I watch one my expectations are a bit low, but this was a really pleasant surprise. I watched the Italian dub, which was interesting as usually English is the language getting dubbed into these but it was clear most if not all the cast were speaking it. A bit slow moving in parts, but the characters were enjoyable to follow & the script was clever. Lots of beautiful visuals that will stick with me, like the shot of Carol entering the woods.

An archetype of a giallo, slow paced with some iconic images. I liked the first half better.

Just when you think Torso couldn't get more... Torso, our heroine's superpower turns out to be cleaning and making a bed. But seriously, this really is an effective slasher when it sets its mind to it. The kills are brutal, the stalking is tense, the soundtrack unnerving. Sleazy as hell, slow at times, and way more obsessed with naked bodies and the uses thereof than would fly today, but you can't argue with the suspense it works up in the last 40 minutes.

A very prototypical giallo film with a black-gloved killer with a knife and plenty of clumsily set up and contradictory clues for the viewer to guess who is the killer. Martino is also utilizing to the fullest the bodies of his group of young heroines: when it is not "proper" to film them with their breasts showing then they are at least wearing see through clothes and short skirts. Moving from Perugia to the countryside Martino exhibits some of the goofy humour he seems to like.
