Touchdown! (1931) doesn't follow all the cliches of American Foolball flicks. Not that it threads too far off either, but I felt the focus on ego instead of the pure victory route was a welcome change. One I felt utilized Richard Arlen stiff personality well. In that regard, deeper than most early talkie programmers. Still perhaps thin soup for any other era.
