She may as well have gone to space. The animation style grew on me. Fav scene: the flurry of emotions when the brothers had each other on the cliff, knowing that they'll have to let go.

The story is a bit unoriginal, but the world-building and visual detail in this animated film more than make up for it. Thanks to the unique art style and effective sound design, northern Russia and the Arctic circle really look like alien worlds. The band of characters collectively have just enough depth to them to keep you interested - although the heroine was not particularly memorable. Much prefer this type of artistic vision to the ubiquitous Disney/Pixar stuff.
