It's hard to fault a movie that tackles the subject of human trafficking so well: wrenchingly emotive, yet respectfully sensitive to it's young subjects. The only downer for me was Kline's exceedingly bland character.

A cause that deserves more attention wrapped up in passable story-telling. Acting suffers - especially of the North American actors (probably the producers couldn't afford better ones). If this is your first introduction into the issue of human trafficking, I wonder if it will make a hard enough impact on you. Some scenes are really good. But if you know & care enough about this issue, this movie comes off as a disappointment. The script & performance could have used a few more revisions.

Competent but ultimately forgettable. Kline is either misused or underutilized - and the deus ex machina of an ending is a major cop out and blow to the film.

Ambitious and touching movie.

Grim if now somewhat over familiar people trafficking 'issue' drama. Predictable plot is jolted with one fine scene on a cliff top. Kevin Kline is passable. A noble cause to highlight but not terribly entertaining.

This movie addresses a very important issue which does not seem to get a lot of attention. Whenever I think of my "favorite" movies, this one immediately pops to my mind. Its very well written, the actors are just great, it is very dramatic and touching. I felt like I learned a lot from this movie!

This film get's bogged down in the way it's told.I felt that the filmmaker's were trying to please two different audiences. There are several scenes that seem to be there to try to appeal to a broader audience that wouldn't necessarily watch this type of film. The ending is the most problematic and disappointing part of this film.It felt contrived and emotionally manipulative and really pulled me out of the story.

When it comes to child-trafficking no other movie comes even close to leaving as deep an impression as this one. It has been well over 3 yrs since I watched it but I distinctly remember the movie and some of its scenes well. Some parts are really depressing and would turn someone even murderous! The end's sweet and that's all that matters...

"Trade has cojones for trying to lay the kind of political guilt trip it does on us with its sham aesthetics and lurid telenovela-writ-large storyline." - Ed Gonzalez

The story of human trafficking is a great topic for a movie, but this movie didn't do the subject justice. There were just too many little scenes that weren't done right that made me disinterested.

It sucks that this shit happens everyday in the world, but the film makes you forget about it by having the main bad guy take a knife up the ass. Justice! Now go back to watching more movies and forget about real world problems....it's what the powers that be would want.
