Trafic is shot well and has some great setups but baby most of the time it’s as fun as sitting in ... boring French garbage good lord. I’d lose my mind over Jerry Lewis too if this was the alternative.

The most lighthearted, whimsical film ever made in which a woman believes someone is mutilating the corpse of her dog right in front of her

If you tough through the dead areas you'll come across a few moments of great physical comedy. The social commentary is easy but not exactly off the mark, and the continued references to the Apollo 11 mission allows Tati to point out humanity is capable of more than just bickering and nonsense...maybe...

Though occasionally stunningly beautiful, the majority of the film is very dull - Not boring, just low on entertainment. But, man, I dug the music!

There are some really good gags here, but for every two of those there's one that's a dud. Trying to shoehorn the character into a more conventional storyline doesn't succeed that well, either. Tati's at his best when his films leisurely flutter about, not when trying to get from point A to point B. Still, it's not a bad way to get a Tati fix, although little of the humor springs from Hulot. The camping car is a brilliant piece of work, and some of the antics at the convention are funny.

Visually compelling but it's kind of a bore.

Tati's final M. Hulot film has a weak reputation, but I was pleasantly surprised by it; the first act isn't that good, but it gradually begins to pay off. The country village interlude is exceptionally warm and congenial, although there's an extended gag in the middle of it that was widely criticized for being too cruel (I find it to be one of the funniest moments in the film). The ending is too similar to PLAY TIME, but it's otherwise a lot of fun. And personally, I think that camper rocks.

Car crash, reminiscent of Godard's!

The gags are a little less natural and clever than those of Tati's previous Hulot films, but it has its moments, most often when dealing with many nameless members of society rather than the handful of "protagonists." My favorite element is that a lot of the visual gags depend on your imagination and don't actually follow through as you'd expect.

It doesn't really get going until the features of the camping car are shown. That's a classic Tati gag and from the on, it moves nicely. The scenes with the mechanic are especially nice.

Elsker den, men bliver også udmattet og irriteret over alle de detaljer skal skal have med...

The party scene was unbearable... to semi-quote the mumblings... As stylish and interesting (almost) as its title

While I can applaud the skills of Tati's observational comedy style, which does result in a few fun gags + amusing observations and a leisurely pace, it fails to sustain my interest constantly.

my first Tati/Hulot, can't wait to see more. Of the many brilliant moments, the "astronaut" bit was really something special. And the character of Hulot is fascinating: a free spirit able to design a badass camper car, navigating a menial world with beneficent aloofness.

My least favorite Tati, perhaps, but still incredibly charming and fun.

Tati could have easily made a dozen films like this in the wake of "M. Hulot's Holiday", each placing Hulot in a different mildly amusing job or situation. And alas, this film suffers after seeing "Mon Oncle" and "Playtime"; it's decidedly less ambitious, the gags are easier and less meticulous, there's too much of a simple narrative and it doesn't really have a whole lot on its mind. That being said, it does pleasantly pass the time and some of the gags do have that inimitable Tati touch.

Incredibly boring and overacted. Sorry, but seeing vehicles ply back and forth on the highways and people mumbling and milling about is not my idea of comedy. My first Jacques Tati movie, and from the looks of it, probably my last too.

More delightful Tati. Some of the broader jokes fall flat, but the great ones, the nuanced and subtle ones are a joy to behold.
