Nothing adds more value to a great movie than an absurdly inferior sequel.

If "Tremors"(1990) was a cheaper land version of "Jaws"(1975), than its follow-up direct-to-video sequel "Tremors II: Aftershocks"(1996) is the cash-grab equivalent to "Jaws 2"(1978). However, at least the Tremors franchise continually added new schlock to the Graboid mythology to try to keep the series from repeating itself too quickly. Although far from the original, this sequel has plenty to offer to hardcore fans of the first, and enough to be just watchable for those who stumble upon it.

Wow, another fun ride. The writers continue the storyline in plausible ways by quickly explaining Bacon's absence in a way that follows how the last film ended while creating understandable motivations for Ward to risk his life again. They also come up with clever ways to kill the worms & it starts to seem like they might have written themselves into a corner. So they change the monsters into something less awesome, but just as interesting & requiring new cleverness to defeat.

Not bad for a direct-to-video release. Actually has acceptable production values and pretty good performances.

Not nearly as good as the original, mostly due to the lack of Bacon, however it is still extremely entertaining.

No where near as good as the original. It's a good film to see eventually if you enjoyed the first film a lot.

This is probably the best sequel to a somewhat low budget 90'ies franchise I've seen yet. It's funny, it has some smart ideas. I don't want to say TOO much about the plot, but if you liked Jurrassic Park 2, something tells you'll love this movie. Something has survived and evolved. Nature found a way! Michael Gross is back as the insane NRA guy and he steals every scene he is in.

Tremors 2: Aftershocks does one good thing, but that single decision is enough to make it watchable. It gives us the evolution to our beloved graboids, which gives us a mid-game change in both action and tone that helps freshen things up. It's still not a particularly "good" movie, but those who enjoy silly B-movies won't care about that, anyway. It accomplishes what it sets out to do, which is to be a cheesy monster movie that also further explores the graboid mythos.

A video-only, Bacon-less sequel of the classic 1990 film, six years later? I walked in with low expectations and I'm happy to say I was proven wrong. "Tremors II: Aftershocks" is definitely not as classic an offering as the original but wisely avoided being just a rehash of it and succeeded in engaging and surprising. That was the bet that would rule in favour or against this film, and returning writers Wilson and Maddock and actors Ward and Gross (gotta love Burt) have clearly won.

Pretty good sequel. Fred Ward is a sinfully scrumptious denim truffle and Helen Shaver looks like she was born then killed her mom then took her jeans then grew up in them as if being poured. In a hot way.

While Bacon's absence is missed, the inclusion of Ward and Gross is somewhat impressive for a direct to video sequel. While they're certainly not golden geese, their characters provide plenty of color to the franchise. It's a fairly fun relic for those of us who can remember the original, but probably not a hidden gem for younger audiences to find.

The introduction of the shriekers and the presence of the incorrigible Burt Gummer help this direct-to-video sequel to play out better than otherwise expected.

A sequel worth checking out if you liked the first, but no where near the B-movie feel of the original, and Kevin Bacon was replaced by an annoying fuckwit. But it does mix things up a bit by having the Graboids (which are now easy to kill and therefore not a threat in this film) change to little shreaking ones with legs, so it gets points for not just rehashing itself, if you can excuse the bad CGI, hammy acting and mostly awful jokes, then its a good popcorn flick.

Overall it's a boring movie frankly. The more subtle humour of the first film has been replaced with more obvious, and less funny, Saturday morning cartoon quality jokes. However some of the jokes still work which prevent the film from being a train wreck. That doesn't mean it's particularly good, though. After a 5 minute montage of killing the Graboids with dynamite you'll be checking your watch (and it won't be the first time during the course of the film).

The first Tremors was a pretty cool throwback to classic monster movies. This one was just a chore to get through.

While I can't imagine this being anyone's favorite movie, it is surprisingly watchable. The creators have turned up the goofiness factor and switch up the creatures about a half hour in to keep things from getting repetitive. Also, look out for the copious parallels to Speilbergs "The Lost World".

Given the direct-to-video/monster-sequel label on this movie, my expectations were quite low. But it is actually a nice little humorous movie this. And plot-wise it beat Lost World: Jurassic Park to the punch by a whole year...

I'm partial to the Tremors series so my ranking is a little skewed. I loved it, plenty of comedy, special effects are better than to be expected. just another fun movie I seem to watch every year.

This is a perfect example of a great B-movie. It has cool monsters, doesn't take itself too seriously, the gags work great; and, though the cast is small, they are all excellent in their roles and the characters are very likable and work well together.

Much more comedic and goofy than the first and the shriekers were a nice touch even if its stolen from Jurassic Park. The replacement for Kevin Bacon is pretty annoying they would've done better without him. It's still a fun movie but a huge step down from the first film.

The first one should have been a bad film, and it wasn't. The second one should be worse, but as it turns out, it's even better. I'm not sure how they managed it, but they did.

Probably as adequate if not slightly more adequate than the first Tremors. The score is just as bad, the humour just as a cringe, the effects just as good (with the exception of some infrequent but badly aged CGI). It's a fun, cheesy watch that builds on what came before fairly well and doesn't falter for lack of Bacon.

Sharper and less cluttered than Part 1, this actually works much better, with Ward and Gartin making a fun team, and Wilson leaning even more into the cheesy 50s B-movie tropes that were more hinted at the first time round. Film is pretty much stolen by Gross’ turn as the… gross Robert Shaw figure; while the visual effects can’t compete with the likes of JURASSIC PARK (which this is clearly aping), they are still surprisingly effective and more than adequately get the job done.

Not bad for a straight to VHS. The mini “shrieker” graboids are pretty cute.
