Similar to 93's "Judgement Night" this one is carried by some big names and is an unjustly forgotten thriller from the 90's. Ice T might be hamming it up, but it works.

You've got Ice-T dressed as Dracula, Ice Cube mugging at the camera for two hours, mash-up of Die Hard and Die Hard Part 2 actors stuck in a building, and Bill Paxton getting anxious. This isn't Hill's best outing, but the slam-dunk cast is worth the ride and then some.

Nice action movie that I like very much, especially the members of the gang, but some amateur camera-shots of 1 of the gang-members I didn't like. The end was surprisingly good.

This is not bad at all, as far as hostage movies go it has a couple of interesting twists in the setup which make it stand out and I like the ending. But the acting is weak and the characters on both sides are unlikeable enough that I didn't care who won or even if they all died. I suspect that second part is intentional, but it still makes the film less lively and tense than it could be.

Silly hicks meet gangstas flick. I do love me some Bill Paxton though.

Filmed from an old Zemeckis-Gale script updated for the gangster rap generation, one can't help but wonder how much more provocative this material would have been if it was shot in the 70's before the image of the stereotypical urban black thug became de rigueur. Ice-T and Cube have good chemistry, but their characters were too clearly based on their rap personas. Thankfully, Hill's taut no frills direction keeps this cat and mouse tale of greed and consequence engaging even when it stumbles.

Another underrated Walter Hill movie. Once you get past the rather clumsy setup the plot is pretty tight, with smart, interesting characters (so refreshing to have bad guys who aren't complete idiots) driven by fun, pulpy performances and strong, atmospheric direction from Hill. The ending is weak, and the video-camera segments just annoying and gimmicky, but overall I really enjoyed myself.

Pretty good action film with a few suspense elements thrown in. It's filmed well using their locations and never gets bogged down. The plot is a little silly at times, but the acting is pretty good overall.

An early 90s descent into gang violence mixed up in some crazy hidden treasure plot under the sharp direction of Walter Hill. It's gritty, raw, preposterous and exciting.

Interesting premise, and it's a solid thriller, thanks to the believable performances.

Another Hill movie with men caught in a perilous situation. Because both sides include unlikeable characters, it's unclear who we are meant to root for, which increases the suspense of whom who will walk out alive. For 90s rap fans this movie is known for being the first movie to star both Ice T and Ice Cube. All with all this was a tight tense movie well worth your time.

This film has some problems but there are several good moments in it. The film has a nice ensemble cast in it. The script does have a couple of surprises. Overall I would recommend this film.
