Skippy from Family Ties plays the only metalhead in his high school, who gets regularly abused by the jocks. When his metal hero Sammi Curr dies in a mysterious fire, Skippy starts hearing backwards messages about revenge murders on his albums. Ultra cheesy stuff, with over the top Satanic posturing and corny occultism, a lot of this comes across like a bad hair metal video, like it was a horror movie designed to frighten suburban soccer moms. A hilarious little time capsule of the mid 1980s.

With backwards satanic messages, homicidal dead rock stars, and religious zealots crusading against rock music, "Trick or Treat" was a remarkably relevant movie mocking the current events of the mid-80's, especially considering the casting of Ozzy as a religious Tipper Gore analog. While I have a degree of appreciation for it, it was still pretty damned tame as a horror movie.

The Ozzy Osbourne cameo is hilarious, but as a heavy metal fan, this is dumb and lame.

A great flashback to the 80's, when the sacred PMRC was going to save us from that atrocious devil music the kids listen to. Today, ok the movie sucks but I still like the soundtrack though.

Badly-written, badly-shot, badly-produced, badly-coiffured ('80s-style), with a very good score by heavy metal legends Fastway, a great guest appearance by Ozzy Osbourne, an interesting plot but otherwise off-the-wall writing and obviously fake and thus only partially effective effects (pun intended). Sub-par fun.

Horribly underwhelming in every way. I was more bored than entertained throughout most of this film.

Silly heavy metal horror. Good FX but otherwise terribly flat and reactionary with far too many _Nightmare on Elm Street_-like elements. Actor-director Smith has a cameo as the high school principal.

C'mon what is there to say about this movie? It's pretty much a must-see for any metalhead, however a quality movie it is not. The music and the rock-star cameos are what make this movie awesome in it's own way. However I would place in the "so hilariously bad it's kinda fun" categori. Not to be taken seriously at all.

The premise should make for a pretty fun end result, especially given the tongue-in-cheek tone that it's going for & how it's clearly trying to pay homage to 80's rock instead of blast it, but the pieces never really come together. The plot is disjointed, a lot of stuff plain doesn't make sense, the hero is pretty annoying & the romantic subplot undercooked. The villain really could've been developed more, too. It's fun, & Ozzy's cameo is hilarious, but it could've been better.

Hair metal bands aren't intimidating at all. There's an incredible moment where someone is plucked out of a television that'll fool you into liking this.

This was a Halloween spooktacular watch for We Hate Movies. Should've been far sleazier - only two brief tit shots - and far more violent, but surprisingly fun at times
