Tromeo and Juliet

Sure, it's been ages since I watched it, but in the broken sewer pipe accident, that is the Troma back catalogue, I recall this one as one of the lesser (and thus less memorable) turds...

Troma's take on classic Shakespeare. This movie has everything a man could ask for sex, violence...etc. There are some really, really funny scenes in this like the decapitation of Tyrone and his head lands on a car full packed with a Long Island family singing found a peanut. Watching it objectively for the first time though it does have some mistakes and bad editing (which could be intentional) the leads acting was good but some of the others looked like Kaufman's friends, and they were bad.

Uncle Lloyd put his Yale education to good use in this radical bad taste revisioning of Bard's timeless classic. In true Troma fashion, it's time stamped to its decade, so it's alternative rock/grunge/goth/punk city, and Kaufman doesn't even try to disguise the subcultural pandering, but it's such a strangely twisted and downright daring take on the material that it hardly matters. Jensen is an appealing Juliet, and the perverse twist on the 'priest's plan' is hilariously warped.

Significantly better than the garbage Luhrmann hackjob of the same year. It bleeds 90s.

The farts are particularly on point in this one.

It was funny at times, but it sort of grew stale in the third act. By leaving you less amused, it's like a post-nut clarity moment where you realise it was never that good now that there is no more laughing keeping the entertainment up.

Middle school left me with an everlasting loathing of Shakespeare that even Troma can't quite fix.

Irreverence by the truckload. It's certainly crass, but not really cynical. They know it's kinda shitty and won't make any money, but don't seem to mind 'cause they're at least making a movie they want to make. So, that's pretty fun. There's also a near-pornographic geek show aspect to Tromeo that makes it required for entertaining prudish guests that you don't particularly care for.

Art-house trashiness that everyone can enjoy. The Troma team will never surpass this one, methinks. Terror Firmer came close, but this one is totally sublime.

Heart's in the right place, but the entertainment value is so-so.

romeo and juliet troma stle plus you have Jane Jensen...that is incredible in itsself..the movie is so damn funny and so damn over the top that its so much a cult classic

It's one of the better Troma films, for whatever that's worth.

By far the most enjoyable Shakespeare adaptation I have seen, and it happens to be made by infamous Troma Entertainment. It is all you could expect from movie released by them - nudity, violence, absurd. And I would have never thought these things would go together with old Will so well.

Enjoyably crass!

TROMEO & JULIET is hard to judge, not just because it's an intentionally trashy film, but because it does achieve something like the spirit of the original, in a warped, underground kind of way. Objectively, it's uneven, silly, and crudely acted. But subjectively, it's hella fun, filled with sex (and sex, and sex), goofy violence, madcap humor, and a surprisingly touching central romance. Motorhead's very own Lemmy narrates. "They found a peanut, all right, honey. They found a peanut of death!"

Ucuz, basit, abuk subuk efekler, çok ama çok kötü oyunculuklar ile film çekerler. Yaptıkları filmler kötü olmaz. Onlar zaten kötü olmasını isteyerek çekerler o filmleri ve bunu bilerek o filmleri izleyen de azımsanamayacak bir kitleye hitap ederler. Arz talep meselesi.
