A heart wrenching and powerful look at how one family is affected by the sexual assault of there teenage daughter by an online predator. The acting is very realistic and low key into the dam bursts, then it's gut wrenching to watch as they fall apart and then try to come to terms with what happened.

Good performances from a pretty impressive cast do the job. The onscreen chatting text is ludicrous and a very bad idea though. It had me lol'ing 5 minutes in.

A pitch-black film about a happy family that is ripped apart when their daughter meets a paedophile. Not that much of an elaborate story, but direction and acting are amazing - as are some of the songs. The inevitable downfall of a family can be traced to one single moment... and the one time you think everything may be all right after all, you're hit with a sledgehammer.

This seemed more like an after school special than a feature film, and I was surprised that it starred such well-known actors. I admired David Schwimmer's passion in bringing attention to internet predators, however, and showing how the consequences of this particular story impacted the parents, as well as the teenage female victim. Overall, I thought the movie was ordinary, but shed light on an important contemporary issue.

Schwimmer tackles the subject with a critical eye but as the focus shifted from the protagonist to her revenge seeking dad, most of the momentum that has been built plummets rather abruptly, inciting a few laughs along the way.

Schwimmer tries and fails with this very ham-handed approach in tackling the dangers of online relationships.

Muy buena pelicula, sorprende la velocidad de la trama. Logra transmitir el caos familiar que se desencadena y la impotencia que generan los hechos.

Very important theme and luckily not the usual way told. Fine acting all the way. And the best of all: the ending was made as well as the story itself. They are among us, I'm afraid.

So far I've watched two movies this year about sexual predators (Megan Is Missing as well). If I keep this up, the FBI will get the wrong idea. But in all seriousness... like someone else, the onscreen chatting text was lame as hell. Luckily, the rest of the movie is completely solid. Emotional, it looks at something that can't be looked at enough, and it all comes together well.

I'm always wary of these cautionary-tales-for-teens type movies, but this one is actually pretty good. There's some depth to it.

This could have been very bad, very easily but it manages to avoid a lot of obvious pitfalls while giving on interesting slant on the scenario.

well acted by all involved, especially ms. liberato as annie. goes in a somewhat surprising direction, however, i found it all painfully believable..

Powerful stuff. I guess this haven't been viewed by that many due to the fact that this subject is tabu. I think Schwimmer does this in a way that many can comprehend. It holds it's grip pretty much the whole way through. The fact that the father works with teen commercials is a bit far fetched, but is hard not to use when it's right there... Excellent acting from everybody, especially Liberato. I'm looking forward to watching her again. - Good

All I could think watching this was, "What are Clive Owen and Catherine Keener doing in a Lifetime Original Movie?" And although it LOOKS like a TV movie, apparently it's not... nice to know the Lifetime sensibility is alive and well into the 2nd decade of the 21st century.

Good. I read a lot of reviews about this criticizing the "ham-fisted" approach of the director. Well, considering the subject I doubt Mr Schwimmer could have done a better job showing the truth in all its horribly ugly decay. It could've been done better but most of the time decent is good enough. The victim and the predator deliver excellent performances. Mr Schwimmer has matured as a director surprisingly well. A good eye opener. Recommended.

A Lifetime network movie, basically. Stuck with it simply because Keener and Owen being in it made me think the ending would pack a punch but it didn't. An incredibly simple film about what is becoming a tired subject. Liberato turns in a good, albeit annoying, performance, as does Owen and, of course, Keener, per usual. Schwimmer must have called in some favors because this film didn't deserve any of these actors.

Probably one of the more desturbing movies I've seen.. about a pedophile. The buildup is very good and at first the 'extreme act' is overlooked, which makes it all the more intense when the rest of the movie zooms in on it. This movie was more about the family's reaction (mostly the dad going nuts). Hard to watch at times.

Not great in a lot of ways (notably the depiction of the internet and the way teenagers talk being as off as they usually are in films made by people over 40), but I do respect David Schwimmer using his clout to tackle very difficult material. Liana Liberato's performance is very good.

Schwimmer achieves an unpleasant, maybe too naive sometimes, but compelling and courageous teen drama. And he doesn't try to watch anything from a distant point of view: instead, the director shoots in a quiet disturbing and intimate way.

What starts off as a big-budget movie of the week is lifted by solid performances, and a third act which doesn't wrap everything up neatly. The references to the sexualization of our culture by the ad industry are worth making too.

Completely forgot that I'd watched this, must not have made much of an impression, like most of Clive Owen's work after Children of Men. Shame, shame...

This is something that is going on in the real world and Schwimmer deals with it in a realistic way and avoids the melodramatic speed bumps and also points a finger towards the sexoffender-online thing. Trust balances on a fine line between what the naive young girl believe and what the world around her believe... I could have done without the symbolic commercial posters of teens not wearing any clothes from the fathers company. A decent film on a horrible subject...

Starts off as a Very Serious Afterschool Special, before it threatens to turn into a dad revenge movie. Fortunately it doesn't go there and resolves in a more emotionally complicated and interesting fashion, but overall it was a little too close to misery porn for me.

A young girl meets an older man online, after they have sex the authorities attempt to catch him. The girl remains infatuated with him. The father becomes obsessed with catching him. Their relationships slowly break down as the drama progresses. They start seeing a counselor. It takes the girl a long time to come to terms with what really happened. The movie is mostly about the frustration and anger, but they manage to work through it by the end exposing their love for each other.

Despite the fact that this film takes the subject of online predation seriously and that I ended up thinking about things I hadn't considered before, most of the juicy stuff was presented as facts in a presentation, and was not dramatized. Clive Owen, on the other hand, playing the father, chewed the scenery. I thought the on-screen chats effectively conveyed the emotional state and maturation level, and thus vulnerability, of the young female lead, something her performance didn't do so well.
