In a desolate section of the Sahara once ruled by the French, two thirsty men stumble into the camp of a Tuareg warrior where they're given water and shelter. Soldiers from the new Arab government now arrive by Jeep and demand the two men be turned over to them. The warrior refuses, citing the sacred laws of hospitality. The soldiers shoot dead one of the men and carry off the other - a political foe of the new government. The warrior mounts his camel and rides off to rescue his kidnapped guest. (imdb)

Mark Harmon stars as an Arab who takes in two men who wander into his camp. When government soldiers come to take them, he won't turn them over since hospitality is the greatest virtue in his culture. When they take them anyway, he declares war on the government. This fairly mediocre action film from Enzo Castellari is almost totally sunk by one glaring issue ... Mark Harmon is playing an Arab. This is never any less than totally unconvincing.

This was a mixed bag for me. I'm a fan of Castellari's Keoma as well as his 70's crime films, but I've found his later films to be quite lacking. It's clear that he took the material seriously and was probably aiming for Arabian Lawrence instead of a Spaghetti Western set in Sahara. Unfortunately, the story is not strong enough to work as a proper drama and the film is too dry to work as plain entertainment. Still, it's one of his better films of the 80's.
