The most basic kind of western with the most basic kind of lead cowboy in Eddie Dean. Hardly a bundle of personality in that guy. Plus the singing cowboy fad was pretty much over by this point. Roscoe Ates was fine as the sidekick, but this was such a standard formula, there was little one could do to make the Tumbleweed Trail (1946) stick-out.
