Twin Falls Idaho

A poignant winner - slowly and deliberately paced mood piece; at its best when focusing on the day-to-day realities and ironies of the brothers' lives. Mark's moving performance as the more 'dominant' brother meshes perfectly with Hicks' hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold; for the most part the supporting cast similarly rise above any cliched trappings, especially Warren's heartbreaking turn. Marred only slightly by 'schticky' digressions with Brown and Gries which are overplayed and underdeveloped.

some of the scenes are rather artistic, in a good way. a story that hasn't ever been told as well as done here.

The interesting subject matter & pretty gothic feel make the slow nature more bearable. Ditto the handsome leads & the light-eyed raven-haired temptress. Still i stopped caring much as the picture went on, and on.
