I suppose I can see how some could find this funny, a few of the gags did make me laugh, but for the most part it was too mean spirited for me.

Viewed March 15, 2021. Laurel and Hardy get stuck in a traffic jam. This universally frustrating premise is a good source of the kinds of destructive, vengeful gags common to their work, and the image of the extremely long line of static cars along a country road is a memorable one (As everyone on Letterboxd is quick to point out, it looks like Weekend). But if we're being honest, I think I like the film's first sequence, where Laurel and Hardy struggle with a gumball machine, better.

laurel and hardy have better silent shorts out there, but i've been a fan of their stuff for years, silent, talkie, or otherwise. this one shouldn't be very high up on anybody's to watch list, but for fans it would be impossible to avoid.

Laurel and Hardy were at a disadvantage until sound came in and expanded their characters and comedy in amazing new ways. Still, this silent short is one of their very best, even though we can't hear their wonderful voices.
