My dislike for Scott is no secret, and this isn't changing my mind, but she's fine here, I just don't buy her as being seductive. The premise of the film is pretty good, and it pulls things off well, but there's no spark in the first half of the film. When Terry Moore shows up it picks up quite a bit, and the plot adds some wrinkles to match. All in all it ends up being pretty fun, but takes a while to get going.

The movie is fun but never goes to the dark places it seems to hint at. Lizabeth Scott is set up to be a great femme fatale but her character fizzles out. Fans of con artist flicks will be disappointed as the plan doesn't have the intricate details that make them enjoyable. Although it's an enjoyable film, it all wraps up far too neatly and without much sizzle. I did enjoy the good girl who gets turned on by bad guys. When she meets O'Brien, you can read "rape fantasy" all over her face.

Lizabeth Scott got me though it... so it only took one of a kind.

Lacks the finesse and direction that the plot deserved. O’Brien doesn’t suit his role, Moore plays his part well and Scott’s character loses her zing towards the end.
